Time management can be defined as one’s powerful skill to plan and to be able to consciously control time for one’s own enhancement in efficiency and productivity. Time management is one of the most effective skills one could have which can help in various things in their life. Although a large number of the population work on their time management, there are only a few who are able to do it right and effectively. This is because not everyone is actually able to understand just how much importance time management really holds and how they are supposed to carry it on, in their life. Although I feel like time management is more of self management still, let’s understand the ten ways in which you can effectively and efficiently manage your time.

10 Best ways to manage your time

Following are the ten ways to manage your time in detail:

1. Set your goals

Set your goals

This step makes it easier for you to be able to work with a clear mind because setting your goals beforehand will help you register the picture of what your destination is and will further help you in listing various ways to reach the said destination. This will also help you use your 24 hours efficiently by doing as many things as possible in it. Knowing your ambitions and what you really want can help you set up the ways you can achieve it and maximize your productivity. Therefore, start with setting a proper target and honestly working for it.

2. Set clear priorities

Set clear priorities

The second step will be for you to prioritize your tasks clearly which means that you should be able to differentiate between what you need to do and not what you want to do, that is what is urgent and what is important, and should be able to choose wisely. You can classify your task in four types:

  • Important and Urgent – the things that are important as well as urgent are the ones that should be on top of your schedule to be followed.
  • Important and Not Urgent – the task that is important but not urgent follows the first one. This means that it is a task that can wait and can be managed after the urgent tasks have been completed.
  • Urgent and Not Important – these are the tasks that are urgent but not important for you to do. So it’s better if you wait for completing such tasks as these do not add up to the enhancement of your productivity.
  • Not Important Not Urgent – these tasks are the ones that only fulfill one’s own pleasures and desires and therefore, should be kept at last in your schedule.

This step could prove to be a trouble while setting your goals because if you fail to set your priorities while setting a goal for yourself then you might fail to achieve the said goal on time.
